Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Bandarawela East for an Agronomist at Agrowela. The Agronomist will be responsible for conducting research, data analysis, and providing recommendations to optimize crop production and improve agricultural practices. They will also collaborate with farmers and other stakeholders to implement sustainable farming techniques and manage crop health and productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and soil science
- Experience in conducting field trials, collecting and analyzing data, and making data-driven recommendations
- Proficiency in agricultural software and tools for data analysis and modeling
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to a non-technical audience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with farmers, agricultural organizations, or research institutions is a plus
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship is a plus
