Description

Technical domain authority & accountability.

  • Provide hands on technical leadership to teams collaboratively to solve complex problems.
  • Steer and empower teams to take ownership of their domains. Guiding teams via pairing and whiteboard design sessions.
  • Enact technical governance, setting non-functional requirements and technical standards while monitoring via automation and governance forums.
  • Technical coordination on any major incidents, ensuring lessons learned are applied to the technical architecture and suggest process improvements.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability of technical solutions.

Research & Development

  • Own the technical roadmap, work collaboratively with teams to develop technical designs.
  • Conduct proof of concepts individually and with teams to prove out technical designs.
  • Consolidate designs and proof of concepts into reports that can be digested by a range of stakeholders.

Technical Consultancy

  • Deliver solution architecture by making sure that software and infrastructure systems are aligned with our commercial targets, acting as a bridge between technical departments.
  • Act as a technical point of contact to the wider business, aiding product, and business leaders with understanding of the technical domain in a digestible manner.
  • Ensure that our systems are technically audited ensuring effective documentation to be able to collaborate effectively internally and externally.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide Architectural steer within a three amigos structure working with the Head of Product & Head of Delivery. Able to push and pull with amigo counterparts to ensure the best solution to our customers both external and internal.
  • Able to operate in a matrix management format. Dotted line responsibility of the Tech Leads on the cross functional teams across a geographically dispersed set of teams and products.
  • Own the technical domain ensuring NFRs are set, monitored, and enforced, within a collaborative environment.
  • Act as the technical lead on major incidents, ensuring teams reach pragmatic resolutions quickly as possible for customers but ensuring root cause analysis is undertaken with work committed to resolving underlying issues ensuring problems do not repeat.
  • Sound knowledge in software design and architectural patterns.
