Job Description

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Employment Type: Contract-based/Fixed Term

This senior professional serves as a lead consultant and strategic advisor to come alongside a business unit and/or team and drive complex project execution within a lean/agile framework. This specialist analyzes multiple, complex requirements and business factors in order to negotiate and implement timely and innovative solutions, often on a global scale. At this career level, the incumbent collaborates on major, complex projects and initiatives. Further, she or he often coaches and oversees the work of other specialists and related staff.

Responsibilities

  • Leads complex consultation and coaching efforts with multi-functional business teams to deliver critical projects with broad, often global, organizational impact. Negotiates with leadership at all levels to scope complex projects and define success criteria for large-scale initiatives and outcomes. Analyzes challenges, prioritizes issues, collects and analyzes data, and designs and manages the implementation of innovative and timely solutions.
  • Oversees multiple complex project implementations with cross-functional leaders and teams. Actively seeks to remove obstacles that are impeding the team’s progress and leads project to completion based on the requirements of all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Leads negotiation with high-level stakeholders to bring alignment to requirements and facilitate decision-making. Negotiates and manages down-stream impact of changes to requirements and communication to all appropriate stakeholders. Manages testing efforts as applicable.
  • Drive strategic business outcomes and create value for customers by defining clear deliverables and executing complex projects to deliver stated outcomes in alignment with broader strategic goals.
  • Lead training and consulting efforts related to success patterns, best practices, process tailoring, and coaching to enable effective project execution on a broad scale across the organization. Manages proposal development, risk management, project planning activities, and communication as needed.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and coach to further a solutions perspective to consider technology and technology optimization as well as process improvement/automation opportunities to deliver results.
  • Proactively matures lean agile practices across multi-functional teams and leaders as well as with client groups/stakeholders. Leads change and continuous improvement efforts through championing this discipline and among leaders and appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in this or a related discipline.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Experience

  • Ten years Relevant experience working in an NGO, including extensive project management in a broader national level.

Travel Requirements

  • May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule
